About me
What got you into making games?
In my final year of middle school, I bought an indie game bundle.
The bundle included three indie games: FEZ, Braid, and Super Meat Boy. It also came with the documentary Indie Game: The Movie, but at first I was only interested in the games.
Each of those three games surprised me in a different way, and that eventually led me to watch the documentary too.
I expected the film to focus on how the games were made. Instead, it explores the emotional highs and lows the developers experienced on the way to release. I found their philosophies and lives deeply inspiring.
I wanted to share what I had felt, in my own way.
What are your favorite games?
- The Witness
A breathtakingly beautiful, simple puzzle game. It tells its story through level design rather than dialogue or text. Even without understanding it all, I find it absorbing and full of surprises. Honestly, making a game like this would be difficult even with a lifetime to try.
- Undertale
An RPG that knows exactly how to move people. It comes down to two things: its characters and its direction. It made me think, “This is the kind of game I really want to make.” I also see it as a benchmark I want to surpass.
- Rhythm Doctor
A rhythm game with distinctive, rhythmic visual direction unlike anything else. But to me, its real value lies in how it taps into our instincts by capturing and combining the fundamentals of why people respond to rhythm.
What are your strengths?
- Reflection is a habit, and I am deeply motivated to grow.
- I am good at recognizing and understanding interpersonal conflicts and mismatched expectations, clarifying the situation, and resolving problems or preventing them.
- Developing games on my own has given me an understanding of all the related disciplines, including game design, programming, art, and sound.
What are your weaknesses?
- Most of my team project experience has been with small teams.
- I take a careful approach to my work, which can mean spending a long time on it.
- I am optimistic about everything and tend not to worry much.
Business
Why did you start the team? What goals or values do you hope to pursue through it?
Music and narrative are what I pursue.
At first, I wanted to make artistic games built around those qualities. Over time, I became more interested in whether my art resonated with other people.
In other words, I want to make games that sell well. The more they sell, the more that will demonstrate the potential of my work as popular art.
What change do you want to bring about through the team?
Music can control people. Many people do not realize its power.
We will make people willing to devote their time and money to our music-based content, and demonstrate that we influenced them to do so.
Through music, we will connect with people, make them laugh and cry, and even create experiences that become an important part of their lives.
In doing so, I want us to lead the market for music-based content.
What led you to look for a team?
The singularity is coming.
I have exciting game ideas and the drive to reach a global audience. But the time any of us has, myself included, may be too short to get there alone.
I used to focus entirely on solo projects, neglecting friendships and professional connections.
That was true even at university, where I studied applied software and joined a VR development club.
At the time, I was developing a casual adventure game called Illume. I entered it in GIGDC 2019 and won a Bronze Award in the university division.
But I eventually stopped development. I had taken on every role myself, set the scope too large, and failed to manage the schedule properly.
I worked on several more solo projects, but still ran into limitations.
Only then did I realize that what I needed was not “problem-solving,” but people.
After that, I brought a team together, and that realization became a conviction. One year with a team was more valuable than three years on my own.
I am confident that I could eventually succeed alone if I gained enough experience. But when would that be? It could take decades.
The “singularity” is just around the corner.
Technology is arriving that will make the things I want and need to accomplish possible for anyone.
I need people.
I will find like-minded teammates, earn meaningful revenue together in the near future, and secure a place for us in this uncertain future.
